From the description
Charlie Hill is a Birmingham-based author, who has been described as 'the chronicler Birmingham needs'. His experience as a former bookseller in the city fed into his satirical novel 'Books', about a writer whose popular fiction is literally deadly. His memoir 'I Don't Want to Go To the Taj Mahal' was published in 2020. His latest novel, 'The Pirate Queen' (Stairwell Books), is based on the life of Irish adventuress Grace O'Malley/Grainne Ni Mhaille. Charlie's work has been reprinted by the Ikon Gallery to complement an exhibition by Vanley Burke; it also features in the title track of 'The Birmingham Poets', an album by Matthew Edwards and the Unfortunates.
